What critics have said about 'The Doormen"

"Victor Verhaeghe and Joe Boover are hilarious as two ultra-competitive doormen at each-other's throats in an hour of raucous comedy, dance moves, and silly songs. They bring it all to the table in this performance, leaping, twirling, busting out roundhouse kicks and choreographed dance routines like it’s nothing, the energy is non-stop in this madcap race to the finish..." -

"The music was very clever and sounded original while nodding to popular styles of music that we all know and love, most enjoyably in an R&B love ballad about doors (yes you read that correctly) featuring a rap break (performed impressively by Joe Boover.) However, the score did better in its more intimate moments, most notably a song Brock and Danny sing together near the end of the show, called “What’s a Doorman?,”(featuring Boover on guitar.) In this instance, the excellent writing of the music shone through. Overall, The Doormen was a hilarious afternoon at the theatre. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and would love to see subsequent incarnations of the show. "

"You need to see Victor Verhaeghe & Joe Boover's expertly crafted musical comedy, "The Doormen" The writing is fresh and hilarious, the bits are timed right, and not once does our attention drift from the earnest and engaging lead characters... As the doormen, Victor Verhaeghe and Joe Boover (who co-wrote the music) have an electric chemistry that's impossible to miss. They're also very skilled comedians, showing all shades of emotion and feeling without ever going 'over the top'."
